The Interface

Upon logging in to the application, you are greeted to a screen resembling the following layout. This section aims to provide you with a quick walkthrough of the core components required to operationalize your trading and investment activities.

 1. Top Panel Market Index Selector

  • The market selector dropdown located at the corner of the top panel can be used to change the market index information displayed on the top panel and the market indices associated with it.

  • You may change the market index that is displayed in the top panel simply by selecting your preferred index from the dropdown.

    • To change the list of market indices displayed in the dropdown menu or to modify its sequence, please visit the Display tab on the Settings page.

  • A color-coded arrow will be displayed alongside the index on the top panel along with the current trading volume.

  • A green arrow indicates that overall, the stocks within that market index are displaying an upward price movement/trend compared to the previous trading day.

  • A red arrow indicates that overall, the stocks within that market index are displaying a downward price movement/trend compared to the previous trading day.

2. Watchlist Market Selector

  • The watchlist selector dropdown is located within the watchlist widget/ window below the top panel and can be used to view the complete list of symbols in a particular market (i.e. DFM, NYSE, etc.) or a user-created watchlist. Market watchlists can be filtered from the sub-market & sector dropdowns in the event the selected exchange contains multiple sub-markets or industry sectors.

  • For instance, selecting the DFM market from the dropdown will display the constituent symbols for DFM's Regular, Futures, or Options market.

  • Depending on your subscription the market feed can be a Real-time feed or a Delayed feed (this changes how fast information is updated). A delayed view is indicated by a "D" next to the market name in the market selector dropdown.

    • Real-time: This refers to live (as it happens) updates from the exchange.

    • Delayed: The trading events and updates to various fields (such as market time and sales, trades, and volume, etc.) are delayed by a predefined interval.
